My thing is, I hated going to see bands that I really liked only pass the mic into the crowd once. It meant a lot for them to take the time to pass it to me, you know? I’ve heard people say that our shows are great, but I pass the mic too much. I’m like, ‘if you want to hear me sing, buy the record. If you want to see a show, then come to our show.’ I do it because if it wasn’t for the kids singing along, there’d be no reason for us to keep playing except to amuse ourselves. I don’t want anybody to feel like they’re not cool enough, or they’re not good enough, to participate.
